Velentis Presents – First Mastermind Meet up!
Yesterday, Novemeber 1, @ 4pm SLT (Pst) we kicked off the very first
Velentis Presents Challenge!
The meet started with a getting-to-know-you/getting-to-know info session followed by the reveal of the “It’s A Wonderful Life” Challenge theme!( challenge details & printable sheets coming later this week.)
Next up we had a fun-filled brainstorming session to answer the question “What does It’s a Wonderful Life mean to you?”
The crowd was filled with ideas. Kizmut talked about the gadgets and doodads of the 1940’s, Jeran, Ashuri, Panudrum, Selina, & Wynd joined in too! Other members of our audience talked about the joys of Christmas & there was even chatter about faires! I totally forgot about the angel fairy part of this tale; did you too? With the crisp winter winds this morning, maybe it’s a good day to snuggle up with a cocoa in hand & rewatch this film & relive the memories again.
It’s fun to take these nostalgic walks into the films of the past and learn the subtleties that bring emotions ranging from the sorrows of the Great Depression to joyous memories of our families, piled in the living room with cocoa & cookies on Christmas Eve.
Lastly, we wrapped up the night with Q & A!
We passed out VP group invites, giving exclusive use rights to our private build box, & everyone got Gifts sponsored by Wynd Ling of Wyndaveres.

I’m so inspired, “I just can’t hide it, I’m about to lose control & I think I like it!”
Did you notice we’ve been under construction – Shifts eyes left, then right admiring the NEW WEBSITE!
The past few years have been bumpy for me & those who are close to me, but I’m FINALY feeling GOOD, which mean that I can get back to doing what I love. ♥
I can return to creating, sharing knowledge, teaching and brainstorming with the Second Life community, and other (secret) communities too, but I’ll leave those secrets for another post.
Fear is a funny thing & loneliness is it’s best friend, those two move in and the next thing you know BOOM! isolation. The WORST part- is not the depression that follows but the lack of inspiration, motivation, and ultimately your creativity vanishes.
You know, for a while I thought… Well, I thought a lot of things, like the lie I’d tell myself every day, “No one likes you.” Ugh! Through that lie, I gave myself a justified reason, NOT to go out! To sit alone and “work.” I mean really, those people are distracting aren’t they?Sure, it worked… For a while, until it spiraled and suddenly I was uninspired, I was alone, and I lost all motivation to do much of anything really. I stopped trusting people. I became became suspicious, and judgmental. Eventually I stopped trusting me. I mean I could not even walk out the door without questioning “Did I leave the stove on?” Honestly, it got pretty bad.
Have you ever found yourself in the same spot? If you have then you know it SUCKS!
If you’re there now, hopefully this will inspire you to change it. After all, only you can make the choice to change you, even your depression is a choice. “I’ve got the right to lay here, I’m DEPRESSED!”
I talk about these experiences more in depth at the Sunday “Mastermind Meet-ups” In Second Life. I’ve hosted these meet-ups for a few months now and I have to say, the creatives who come in and share their struggles on their paths to excellence, they are AWESOME! Do you want to get out of a funk FAST? Then GET OUT!

Mastermind Meetup #2 Dream a little Dream

On Sunday June 24,2018 we had our very first mastermind Meetup & it was a great success! Thank you all for joining us for our very first Mastermind Meetup (cheers wildly.)
For those who missed out I’ll be submitting a recap after each and every Sunday’s Meetups combining useful information from both the 6am-7am & the 6pm-7pm sessions, but please do join us at @ Cafe’ Make, Wyndavere City to get the most out of the project. Showing up is the first step to succeeding at ANYTHING!
During our flagship meetup we covered a range of topics from psychology- why you don’t believe you can do it, or why you lack motivation, and even some stories told by other Masterminds. Here is a recap:
Host introduction: Hello I’m Wynd Ling, SecondLife resident of over 11 years (and counting), artist, architect, entrepreneur, leader, teacher and life loving psychology junkie info sponge!
Mastermind Introduction: The idea of mastermind groups was first introduced in the 1930’s in Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” and later in “The Success Alliance.” A Mastermind it is a group of people with drive, determination, and love of their craft who give each other support and brainstorm ideas to help them reach their fullest potential,and ultimately fulfill their dreams.
The goal of these meetups is the same, support each other because success is determined not by drive alone but by the people you surround yourself with. A group of supportive high energy peers will be worth more to you than a certificate or money because of the time it will save you to reach your dreams sooner.
Look back through history, all of us could have been Einstein or De Vinci, or even some of my personal heroes, Oprah and Ellen, if only we’d had that one person who believed in us, even when we did not believe in ourselves.
I invite you to be that person for someone else and let us be your people too.

- Dreams are built by connection. Networking and surrounding yourself by people who want to help solve your problems.
- A dream should be something within your control…So as much as I too would like world peace, I can not control all the people in the world so this is not a good, concrete goal to go after, though I’m not suggesting you don’t do your part by being a good human.
- A dream needs a problem to solve, as Barbara Says “Even people who don’t like you will want to help you solve your problem.”
